When it comes to FF, it takes good 6 seconds, which is much slower. My question is: can the plugins I installed cause this problem? You can try to use the Web Console (Web Developer > Web Console;Shift+Ctrl+K) to see how much time items take to load.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
