A brand new iMac with the current OS X 10.8.2 has no Applications folder in the dock. When I try to download Firefox the last step instructs to drag the Firefox icon into the Applications folder. What do I do since there is no such folder?

FYI, an older MacBook Pro I had does have an Applications folder in the dock so there was no problem downloading and installing Firefox.

Hello rcarm, open the Finder and then go to the Menu Bar then open the "Go" menu and select "Go to Folder...", then type(or copied and paste from there) ~/Library/Application Support

thank you

Thank you ideato. I will try your suggestion next Wed. when I visit with my friend who just purchased the new iMac. I am trying to help her to learn and navigate the Mac as she had previously used only a Windows/PC. I have always use Mac laptops so this is the first time I have encountered an iMac and apparently the OS is a little different re the application folder and the downloading of Firefox.
