I click *disable protection on this page* from the shield icon and it closes the window, it won't allow access to this http&https site but I know & trust it.

I am going to a website I trust. I launch the link, the page comes up blank with the padlock icon with a message that says Firefox has blocked content this isn't secure. I know the site is https but has some http content. I click the *disable protection on this page* button, but it doesn't allow the site to resolve. It closes the page. How do I get the site to resolve, especially since I know & trust the site?
