"I can't open links in Skype chat windows when having a Firefox session running in the background, it just flashes the window borders. If i close Firefox and leftclick on the links Firefox automatically opens the link but not while having a session running in the background. Strange thing while having clicked the link and started a new Firefox session it opens the tabs as usual while clicking the links the next few times but closing Firefox again and restarting it and then click on links in Skype window, it doesn't respond. I have to bring the context menu and then choose copy adress."

I see there is no answer for the problem that guy have had and I have the same problem - links from skype and from windows live mail won't open and there's more - FF doesn't open html files that are saved to pc, even thou I just saved em, but when I click on em happens nothing and when I rightclick and choose open with FF happens nothing.

It worked for couple of weeks with no problem and suddenly today links just make skype flash exactly as in christianhbergs description and in windows live mail they are becoming purple but firefox doesn't react.

as soon as I make IE as my default - links are working, but not with firefox.

So I assume the problem is in firefox (not in skype or WLM nor in Win8)

(running Win8 and FF25.0)

And none of the solutions you gave us in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/961242#answer-497345 work.

I found the problem thou!

I don't usually turn off the pc but I hibernate it!!!

So as I had this problem I decided to restart my pc.

The problem disappeared after restart - so I assume that FF problem was somehow connected with memory usage for hibernation.

Thank you for your answers anyways.

Sorry to hear that you are facing issues with links opening in Skype. Can you please confirm if this happens only with Skype - where clicking links while a FF session is open doesn't open the links. Have you tested this with other IM applications like GTalk or with links in emails.

Also, can you please check one more thing, minimize the FF window and then try this with Skype and have the FF window in the background of your Skype application and then try.

Could you please test that and let us know the results.

Thank you

First of all what do I have to take a screen shot of?!!

There is Skype and link in my chat that I receive as well as link in WLM in e-mail and HTML file that was created by FF when I saved page.

Doesn't matter if I close or open or minimize FF - clicking on the links or file doesn't provide any reaction from FF.

As soon IE made as default browser - clicking on the same stuff makes IE open link or HTML file.

So the screenshot doesn't give you much of info. except of showing my Skpe chat window with link or WLM e-mail with link or HTML file.

Glad to know that the issue is resolved after a restart. Could you please mark the solution which helped in resolving your issue (even if it is your own response). That way, someone else facing the issue will be able to locate the solution sooner.
