Just updated to FF25 from FF22, and decided to have the Menu tool bar visible, and all was fine. Until I restarted FF and now my Bookmark Drop down BUTTON is gone. I go to customize, and the button reappears, but as soon as I close the customize window it goes away. I then hide the Menu Toolbar, so just the Menu Title bar button appears and the Bookmark Drop down button reappears. WTH? Why must every time FF is updated I have to spend time scrounging Google to "fix" things to how they were?

So how do I get the Bookmarks Drop Down Button to show AND have the Menu Toolbar visible at the same time? To address those who will ask, why? or there is a Bookmarks text drop down already in the Menu Toolbar, I DON'T CARE! I want the functionality back and am frankly sick an tired of all these little tweeks FF does with no notes on what they did or why. Also another problem I just discovered. My Downloads arrow is normal button size, but when there is a download, it bloats to about 5 buttons wide and 2 buttons tall, and the progress bar is half of that height! When before it would all stay withing the single button size dimensions. So now I have to also remove that from the tool bars, as it makes the whole bar 2x the height.

This is harsh but I am so frustrated with the whole thing. When they worked fine before, and I only updated for the new features and security, but every time the FF team decides to mess around with features that have been there for months or years, it drives me crazy.

Keazen oplossing

Found a link that showed me how to edit a userchrome file which allowed me to force the bookmark icon to always display regardless of what mode the menu bar is in.

Seriously FF you are ridiculous.
