How do I remove the annoying new 28.0 Tab that launches to show an advertisement for various websites?

When I open the new Firefox 28.0 Browser, it creates a "tab" that takes me to a page with 14 icons with links to: Facebook, YouTube, AliExpress, Booking.com, Gameo, Twitter, Amazon, eBay,

Outlook, Tumblr, and Instagram.

I do not want this advertising "Tab" to load when I open a new Firefox browser window.

How do I permanently prevent this "tab" and "advertising page" from opening?

Thank you very much.
