Creating irregular recurring events?

I'm hoping there is an add-on or extension that enables me to customize events that repeat, but not with the regularity that is currently available with Lightning. I need to keep track of recurring events that may land on the 15th of this month, but next month it lands on the 2nd, and the following month its not until the 28th. These events are not consistently the same day or the same distance apart, but I would still like them linked. What options are there for this sort of capability?

To define any kind of recurrence, you need to know the pattern. So, what rules determine when these events happen?

In a recent discussion about a similar topic, all we could do was suggest two schedules, one for each pattern of repetition.

If there's no pattern, or no rule, then you're out of luck. Even then, some rules might be too complex. Like the one for Easter Sunday, the moveable feast.

Have you looked at the Custom scheduling in Lightning?

There is no pattern, as I indicated originally. I've been using the Lightning custom schedule to create about 5 times as many events as needed so I can hit every real date, then deleting everything I don't need, but that way they stay linked. However if any dates change I have to do this all over again - its not ideal or user friendly in any way.

Custom scheduling in lightning still requires a pattern - every 3rd Thursday, etc., or multiple events to make these happen. The events I need to tie together need to be linked, but will have variable dates. After looking all over online, I'm not alone in needing this feature.... unfortunately no one wants to/seems to be able to develop it. I think a lot of needs would be met if this feature were possible.
