While trying to add my Telus email account to Thunderbird on a new computer, it consistently displays an error message telling me that my password is wrong and that login failed. There is no chance that I have my password wrong; I've tried it at least 10 times and have even updated my password on the Telus site.

I still have this email account set up with Thunderbird on my old computer, since obviously I can't delete it until I have the new one set up. The settings are identical, the passwords are the same, and I can send/receive without any problems on the old computer.  ???

That error message means that either the password entered is wrong or the password is correct but not for the settings you are using.
