Wow! Thursday I installed the new Firefox 38.0.1 on four PC's: two Windows XP Pro, one Windows 7 Home Premium, and one Windows 7 Professional and the Firefox->Tools->Options font size is huge! Is Firefox 38.0.1 a sight-impaired version?

hello, if you think the font size is too big you can adjust that like on any other website (by pressing ctrl & -). firefox will save that setting if you allow it to store page preferences...

Thanks philipp, but that is not the problem I am addressing. Web page fonts are fine, however in Tools->Options now open full page size instead of their own view box and the fonts are huge! Another issue is that if you prefer opening new pages in new windows instead of tabs the menu bar is notr available.

If you manually open each new link in a new window by right-clicking the link then selecting "open link in a new private window" the menu bar always opens with the new page. If you double-click the new link in your page sometimes the menu bar opens in the new link and sometimes it doesn't. These are old Firefox bugs fixed in older versions, too.

If a pop-up window is opened via JavaScript window.open() then it is possible to hide some elements in this window. There are dom.disable prefs that to can toggle on the about:config page to prevent a website from hiding toolbars.
