When I am signed into Amazon, I don't get that little lock up in the corner.
Can someone hack into my account? How do I know if it is secure? Thanks.

I wish I could say for sure. If you log in, then browse a bunch of products (not secure pages), then go to your account and try to view credit card information, can you see the number without re-entering the password?

The basic globe shown on Amazon product pages indicates zero encryption, anyone who has access to the line anywhere between you and Amazon can read those pages and the cookies you send when you request them. However, there might not be a lot of sensitive content in product pages, and it's more a question of whether someone could seize the cookies for your session and impersonate you during the time before Amazon requires the password again to access order and account information. I don't know the answer to that, but there must be some protection in place against that kind of attack. I HOPE!
Thanks. I just want to make sure my credit card info is safe.

I could only see the last four digits, per usual. Thanks for the help. K.
