I have tried everything in the trouble shooter and none of it worked. In the profile folder I would uncheck the read only box, close it and reopen it and it would be checked again.

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Right click on it, and select Open New Window. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.

When I open the task manager firefox isn't listed, and yes its on my taskbar but doesn't give me the option to open a new tab. The only 2 options it gives me is to open firefox and unpin from task bar.
