browser.url.ClickSelectsAll (to highlight address with a single click) only works if you don't use another tab.

You can select other tabs, but if you USE another tab (e.g. focus the website) then return...the address bar is no longer highlighted, and a single click does not highlight it!

This is a feature that chrome uses. I have been searching for days now through hundreds of addons for a solution to no avail.

Yours faithfully,

Please also consider leaving your feedback in input.mozilla.org. However an actionable feature can also be formulated in Bugzilla.

If you set browser.urlbar.doubleClickSelectsAll to true then you can always use a double-click to select all the text. I prefer to use a double-click because that allows to click the URL bar at any position and make changes to the URL or select part of the URL for copying.
