After doing "refresh Firefox," the location bar no longer does autocomplete on URLs, and the search bar when I open a new tab does nothing.
I got the message "Firefox seems slow. Refresh it?" After I did, it mostly looks fine, but when I type an URL into the location bar, it doesn't autocomplete. I realize it cleared the history, but it doesn't seem to be adopting the new URLs I've typed in. For example, I've now gone to Google.com several times, and it still won't autocomplete that. I checked the config file, and the autocomplete URL value is set to true. All my searches for this uncover steps to turn autocomplete off, but I want to turn it on, and I can't fine any.
The other thing happening is that when I click "New Tab" it indeed gives me a new tab, with a search bar and a setting widget. When I type into that bar, it offers no suggestions, and when I click "search" nothing happens. I have to go up to the location bar, type in google.com (which doesn't autocomplete), and search from there.
I'm on Windows 7.

Do you mean that the location bar drop-down list doesn't open?
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

You can check browser.urlbar prefs on the about:config page to see if any show user set (bold).
- browser.urlbar.maxRichResults
I guess so. Essentially nothing happens. I have to type the entire URL myself, every time.
Did you try the suggestions I posted above and checked for issues with the places.sqlite file and possible user set browser.urlbar prefs?
