I have tried to export bookmarks to HTML as instructed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer but no file is created. I have tried several times and have restarted my Mac, but still no luck. Please help. I have Firefox 40.0.3 on Mac OS 10.9.5

Do you get any error messages?

Please follow the instructions again. When you get to the part where you save the HTML file, STOP!! Look carefully at the file name and the folder the file is saved in (top line). Take a screen shot.
