Thunderbird will not connect to the server
I've tried several times to send different emails and get this message.

Have you checked that your internet connection is working? Have you logged into your account via webmail (using your browser, not Thunderbird) to check that the account is working?

I did check in this morning and found I could use my email again. Thank you for your help. Would love to know what was wrong.
Your email provider's server might have been down for some reason ... stuff like this happens and most of the time we never know why.
