Started a few days ago that I can only receive new emails at Thunderbird startup. I added my profile folder to the exceptions list on virus programs but can still not receive new emails unless I sign out and restart Thunderbird. Even in safe mode which disables all virus protection, I have to sign out and restart Thunderbird to receive new messages. Everything else works fine, sending, deleting, moving messages to a folder, ect., just no new emails.

There have been many people complaining about not getting new messages via GoDaddy IMAP server recently, unless Thunderbird is restarted. Check with GoDaddy if they have any problems. Assuming there is a GoDaddy support forum, check whether other users have the same problem.
