Prevent the "New Bookmark" menu from timing out and creating the bookmark in a default location
Firefox recently added a feature that will automatically add a new bookmark to a default location after a very short timeout.
I go through the same procedure that I always have (Hit ALT to get the classic menu -> Bookmarks -> Add Bookmark). The menu to pick a destination for the bookmark is shown, but while I'm still looking at it and trying to decide where to click next, the menu disappears and the bookmark has been added to a default location rather than to the folder that I wanted to pick.
Where can I increase this timeout so I will have time to choose myself?

Sorry, the developers didn't include a preference which would allow that "timeout" to be changed by the user.
Try hitting the "Star" a 2nd time to open the "Edit this Bookmark" dialog which doesn't "timeout".
Or just hold focus on the dialogue for instance leave the mouse pointer within it. Or press the tab key to move focus to one of the selectors or editable fields - you may cycle through them with additional presses of Tab, or Shift+Tab to reverse the direction. Note Ctrl+D is the keyboard shortcut to open the bookmarking option from the doorhanger on the icons. (Or Ctrl+Shift+D opens a free floating dialogue - but with no Tags options.)
