Deleted messages reappear in my inbox, they show the original date and are in chronlogical order. They are now appearing twice. I have tried 'Cannot delete messages' article which recomends deleting the 'trash' folders and I have tried deleting all the .msf files from the profile folder. Any other suggestions? Should I try deleting the 'inbox' folders? Thanks!

If deleted messages are reappearing then it is likely you have a corrupted Inbox.

Please do the following:

  • Move all good wanted emails out of Inbox into other suitable fodlers for storage and organising.
  • Delete all unwanted messages.

When Inbox is completely empty:

  • right click on 'Inbox' folder and select: 'Compact'

Recommend you also: right click on 'Junk' folder and select: 'Empty Junk' right click on 'Junk' folder and select: 'Compact'

One of the most common reasons for getting a corrupted file would be due to a lack of compacting. Normally, you do not need to empty the Inox prior to compacting, but if you ever suspect something a miss with that folder, then it is a wise precaution to move the good emails first.

Please read info on Compacting, what it does and why it is important:

Hi, thank you. I should have also said that I had tried emptying and compacting the folders, also tried the 'repair folder'. The problem started as soon as I set up this email account so history-wise there was not a lot of emails in the entire system! Any other suggestions?
