Hard refresh (Ctrl/F5) does not change the favicon like Google browser does.

When we change a favicon.ico image for a client Firefox does not update the image even after a hard refresh (Ctrl/F5) so our client cannot see what the new icon looks like. To get it to change one has to clear the cache or sometimes even re-boot the computer, which is not practical when small changes are being done repeatedly untill the cuustomer is happy with the image. Also, if a mistake has been made and the wrong favicon is displaying on a clients website this problem is an issue for them. Google Chrome browser does change the favicon image after a Ctrl/F5.

Since the favicon is in the root then go directly to it. go to www.yourwebsiteurl.com/favicon.ico (works for localhost as well)

At this time there are no simpler way though that it is very simple. If running a Developer then there are other ways and you can ask at https://stackoverflow.com for code.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
