Autofill only works for names with addresses. Why?

When I have the new(ish) autofill feature checked (meaning it fills in my name and address on forms), no other autofills work unless they also have addresses associated with them. Meaning if I go to a website where I often check other people's names and start typing in the name, it no longer autofills. As soon as I uncheck the new autofill feature, everything is fine on the other websites. So does this mean one can't have both??? Thanks.

The built-in form filler in Firefox is undependable.

You could try using a form filling add-on. They can be set to global(all websites) or specific websites.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

Hi,

There's a seperate issue :

Your system details show that you need to update your Adobe Flash Player - you're running an older version, which can cause problems. Would you please uninstall your current version and install the latest version, which is 28.0.0.161

Uninstaller : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Note : some 'extras' may be offered in the download.

I'm a little freaked out that you could tell what version of Flash I was running -- how did you do that??? Anyhow, I did as you suggested and uninstalled the older version, but now I can't download the newer version. I keep getting "application initialization error." So now I have no Flash at all. Is that going to be a problem for me and if so, how can I fix this? Thanks.

No need to be freaked out  ! Like I said : your system details show what version you're running (to the right of your original post .... )

Would you try this link and see if it will retrieve the installer for the plugin used by Firefox:

LOL, thanks, you're sweet and I didn't realize those details were visible. And yes, thanks for this too -- the new Flash installed just fine from that link. So back to my original issue -- any reason that I can't get both those things to work at the same time?

Yay  ! I'm glad the new Flash installed just fine using that link - truth be told : you had me worried there .....

Back to your original question : I just re-read your question, and quite frankly : I'm not sure if the answer is "Yes" - but maybe somebody else will know ....

In the mean time : FredMcD suggested that you'd try to use a from filling add-on, so I went and found these (not sure if they will do what you want though ... ) :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/autocomplete-forms-for-firefox/

And :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/autofill-forms-webextension/

And also :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/form-filler-devtool/

Any good  ?

Thanks again Happy112 (and you too, FredMcD!). I'll check those out when I have a little more time. And yeah, hopefully someone will still respond to the original question as to why they can't be active simultaneously. I know that the autofill address thing is a relatively recent roll-out, so perhaps it's still buggy but will be fixed at some point soon.
