My wife is using Thunderbird Mobile (Originally with some version 52.x.x) on her laptop running Windows 10. Everything was running fine. She just discovered today that since a couple of days when creating a new mail and sending it out (to any address) the mail seemed to be sent, is posted into the "sent" folder, but unfortunately it is never received at the other end. No bounce back or non-delivery reports received. However if she replies to a mail she had previously received from any of those addresses. Then the mail is sent and received at the other end. I just upgraded to latest version of Thunderbird Mobile (60.3.0 32 bits). Still the same behavior. I read through the previous questions/answers on this forum. I checked the signature: She was not using any. So I added a small text as "Signature". Still the same behavior. She tried sending a mail from EMail application on her mobile (Samsung Android and same account). Then the mail is sent and correctly delivered at the other end. Did not try WebMail as it was previously send that this is not an appropriate test. On this Thunderbird Mobile Client setting she has another mail address. If she try creating email from this other address and sending it. Same behavior (Message sent but never received). So looks like the "over-aggressive spam filtering issue" does not applies in her case??? She is very rarely using the second address and it looks difficult to believe that both addresses would be spammed at the same time??? No signature either on this second mail account.

Would anyone have any idea? Should I try to check anyway on the spam aspect how/where can I ask for such check as the service provider is "Orange.fr"? Thanks in advance for your help. Let me know if any additional question.

Thanks again for your follow-up. I went back into the SMTP Server definition and used the update button to check the detailed characteristics for both server defined (Thanks for your pointer to the Orange requested characteristics). In each case all characteristics seems to be OK. Each time I closed the detailed characteristic windows but I am sure thought if I used "save" or "cancel". Then I tried sending a new mail .... And this time it works!!! The mail is sent and delivered at the other end. So not sure what did really happened as I did not change any characteristics just selected them and clicked on the "modify" button and then "save" or "cancel" (I do not remember) on the "details characteristics" windows. In any case the issue seems to be fixed. Any idea why? In any case thanks a lot for pointing out to check that SMTP definition. Regards.

Just did two additional tests: 1) If she creates a new mail and starts the subject with "Re: ". Same problem. Mail sent but never received 2) If she edits an old mail: Completely change the subject and completely change the body of the mail adding new ones. Then the mail is sent and received at the other end. ???

Reply includes an account and therefore an outgoing server. clicking write used the default SMTP server.

SO open the account settings, scroll the the very bottom and open outgoing server (SMTP) is there more than the requisite two SMTP servers? My guess is that there will be.

Next test. Open the error console. (Ctrl_Shift+J) clear it completely. ( you might have to click the trash icon more than once.) Send mail. What errors are added? (right click has a copy so you can paste them here.)

Hello. Thanks for the reply. I went and checked the SMTP outgoing server: I see two lines: First line: "her adresse"@orange.fr - smtp.orange.fr (default) Then a second line: Orange - smtp.orange.fr" The first line was the one validated.

Then when I do "ctrl-shft J", a window named "Console du Navigateur" is opened. At first it is completely empty (??). Then I try sending a mail. The only line that is added in the "Console du Navigateur" window is: "window.controllers/Controllers est obsolète. Veuillez ne pas l’utiliser pour détecter l’agent utilisateur (UA). blank" Not sure what to do? Thanks for your help. Regards

One of those SMTP settings is marked as default. (usually the first in the list. It is used when you click write. The secnd may well be what is used when you click reply.

SO my guess if you edit each of those SMTP entries you will find that the settings differ from those suggested for orange. (OR in the user name.) you need to work out which is wrong and correct it.

Settings appear to be published here https://assistance.orange.fr/mobile-tablette/tous-les-mobiles-et-tablettes/installer-et-utiliser/utiliser-internet-mail-et-cloud/mail/l-application-mail-orange/parametrer-et-configurer/mail-configurer-les-serveurs-sortants-et-entrants-des-principaux-comptes-mails_47992-48856#onglet2
