Hi, my name is Trevor, can I use Thunderbird for an email address for a small non-profit I work for (my 1st name @healthytransportation.ca); how can I do it?
Hello, the Thunderbird related website says someone can get Personalized email addresses. Specifically, it says:
"Personalized Email Addresses Ever dreamed of having a personalized email address (such as "dad@thesmithfamily.com") for you, your family or your business? Thunderbird makes this easy - you can sign up for a new email address within Thunderbird, and it will all be set up automatically for you ready to send and receive."
I have an e-mail address for a small community group I work for. The email address is: "my 1st name@healthytransportation.ca"... can someone confirm that I could setup Thunderbird this way so that I can send a receive emails using Thunderbird, but the email address will be "my 1st name@healthytransportation.ca"
What are the steps I need to follow to do it? Thank you very much, I really appreciate your help.

Hi Trevor, for a domain name that is already registered, you'll need to have the organization establish that mailbox on their web server. Then (most likely) you can use Thunderbird to work with that mailbox.
Hi Have you tried the steps explained here? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-email-address Thunderbird does not itself provide an email address - it usually works with an email address that already exists. However as the support page describes, Thunderbird may help you with creating a custom email with certain partner email providers. However, no guarantee you can use your first choice. If you own that domain (healthytransportation.ca), then ask your domain provider or website contact whether email is included. If it is, you would create the email account you want with them, and then use Thunderbird to connect to it. I hope this helps. Agnes
Hi again I am not sure from the second part of your question whether you actually do already have the email address you want. If you do - then you don't need Thunderbird to create it. Just install Thunderbird as normal and enter your email server details when prompted. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-account-configuration or manually if that fails https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manual-account-configuration Agnes
