I started using Firefox in 2004. Now GOOGLE WILL NOT allow me to get to some sites

more options

i uninstalled GOGGLE tonight because, I HATE GOOGLE for several reasons. BUT since the uninstall, they are blocking not sites but CONTENT. I do a search and the content is on lots of URLS. BUT GOOGLE INTERCEPTS THE SITE, HIJACKS Firefox AND SAYS: GOOGLE 404. That’s an error. The requested URL [inappropriate link] was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

i KNOW its a lie as the URL/SITE comes up, I SEE THE CONTENT then GOOGLE "KNOCKS IT DOWN AND SAYS: GOOGLE 404. That’s an error. The requested URL [inappropriate link] was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

BUT IT DID IN FACT "FIND" IT, I SAW IT FOR A BRIEF MOMENT.

ANYONE?

I try to "learn something everyday." I did today...i never knew in the last 82 years. I also used Firefox and BING.

You found my PM (Private Message) then ......

Just keep on learning young man (but not from that video .... )

The only "Bing" I like is Chandler Bing ("Friends") and Bing Crosby .....

@ Dr.K :

This is an old thread which is about to be archived ....

Personal note : I am perfectly happy using Google - I just make sure that I don't enter search requests that would reveal things that I don't want anybody to know about me (like my bank account and PIN). The more my search engine knows about me, the better search results I get. But that is just my personal opinion.

I can't believe this dude that's "been using the internet and is some kind of tech admin for 55 years", hahahah, is really posting some screenshots about not "searching" Google cause he deleted Google when he deleted the Google browser Chrome right? when in fact you typed a bad url (notice the backslash in the search terms guy?) into the address bar of Firefox, which will then search Google since it isn't a good url or a location on your device. Apparently in those 55 years they didn't teach you how to manage the settings in Firefox and how to disable and change which ever service for a search and to search in the address bar. All this incriminating old man perversions stuff and dude just needed to search whatever the terms were after the backslash. I'm guessing whatever was popping up was the cache of that file but since you had a folder in front of the backslash that was non existant on your machine or online it gave the 404 after trying.
