Firefox stopped working entirely. Have removed it and downloaded again any number of times. Still no good. Nothing loads.

Other browsers like chrome work fine. Nothing about Firefox works. Settings such as options, etc. do not work. Help!

please keep all compatibility mode settings disabled and reboot the system after you've changed that. then test if firefox comes back to live afterwards...

hi, we had a few users describing similar symptoms on windows 10 when they had firefox run in compatibility mode for win7 - can you check if this is the case for you and if so disable any compatibility settings? https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/15523-change-compatibility-mode-settings-apps-windows-10-a.html

I cannot get anything to open in Firefox. From the menu bar in the upper right hand corner, none of the items when clicked will open or respond. Also, Firefox appears to remember frequent sites, but when those links are clicked, likewise absolutely nothing happens....nothing responds. Certainly appreciate the help, but as of now, nothing works. Thanks.

To further clarify my response. Opening Firefox properties provides me to run it in compatibility mode for windows 7, and upon unchecking that, it still does not run. I have re-checked compatibility mode for windows 7, and am back to where I started from.......firefox is absolutely dead.

OK, all compatability, including windows 7, is turned off. Firefox is now working OK. Do I leave all compatability settings turned off? Many thanks!

yes, keep the compatibility settings turned off please - they are not necessary for proper operations of the browser (rather to the contrary as you've found out unfortunately).
