Everytime I open sites like https://developers.google.com/maps and http://ruby-forum.com, and some other sites that I can't recall now, I get "Corrupted Content Error". The send.firefox.com even fails to load. I have to press "ctrl + shift + r" to reload the site, but when I am redirected to the sites (say after login), I can't press ctrl + shift + r.

Removing cache and cookies didn't help. Chromium loads the sites just fine.

This is a very weird problem. I have this with www.itsfoss.com. After upgrading to Firefox 73.0.1 the problem seemed to be solved. But it came back after a reboot.

On another computer (Ubuntu 18.04.3) there is no problem when I visit www.itsfoss with Firefox 73.0.1. But on this computer (Linux Mint 18.3) I have one window where there is no problem with www.itsfoss.com and another window where I get the error

<quote> Corrupted Content Error

The site at https://itsfoss.com/ has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected.

Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

How is this possible? Any ideas/suggestions?

I had the same issue. There's a inconvenient solution that worked for me. What if you clear the browser's cache and cookies? Also, for me clearing individual site's cache and cookies didn't help. I had to clear everything...

You can get a "Corrupted Content Error" error if there are multiple location redirects send via the HTTP response headers. Firefox doesn't allow this for security reasons.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.
