Order of incoming emails in my Inbox
I am a fairly new user of Thunderbird (for approximately three months now) previously using Windows Live Mail and Outlook Express for the past 20 years! Like most people I guess, I would like to see incoming emails in my Inbox ordered in time and date order. This was always the way that Windows Live Mail did it. It was also the way that Thunderbird did it at the start. However, Thunderbird has suddenly decided to order the incoming emails in alphabetical order! I do not want this. How do I get back to time and date order?
I am attaching a screenshot of my Inbox, as it was a couple of days ago. You will see what I mean!

Before posting a screenshot, make sure you mask/hide your email addresses and any other personal information on them. It is not okay to post such information on public spaces like this forum thread, because they are visible to anyone and everyone on the internet including spammers who scour the web for such carelessly exposed addresses.
To sort your messages by date on Thunderbird, simply click the header (label) of the Date column. Alternatively, go to the View menu, select Sort by then choose Date. You can also toggle between Ascending and Descending order from the same menu or by clicking the date column header.
