I lost all my saved passwords due to a recent update, how do I recover them? Some of them were pretty important and I can't recall them. Please help.

FYI I had already followed these steps below but for some reason it didn't work. Not sure if I did something incorrectly. 1. Click the menu button, click Help, and select Troubleshooting Information. 2. Under Application Basics, click the Open Folder button next to Profile Folder. 3. Close Firefox 4. Check if you see a file called logins.json in your profile folder. If you do, rename it to logins.json.old. 5. Check if you see a file called logins.json.corrupt with a June 2019 date in your profile folder. If you do, right-click on the file, copy it and then rename it to logins.json. 6. Start Firefox.

Does the Determine if Firefox has created a new profile section in the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article help you? I know the article says it's related to bookmarks, but it can help recover other data as well.

What logins.json and key4.db file did you find in the Firefox profile folder ?

Did you keep a backup copy of these files in case they still have valid information ?

Note that renaming logins.json (loginsOLD.json) and restoring logins.json from logins.json.corrupt would only have effect if you have both file and if logins.json.corrupt has valid logins data if you check this in Firefox or in a text editor.

You can also check if you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop in case the Refresh feature in Firefox has been used and a new profile has been created.

You can check in Windows Explorer if there is a previous version of the file available.
