Default search engine not used correctly

more options

I have selected DuckDuckGo as my search engine. However this is not shown correctly when I open a new window. What I see is the DDG logo followed by the text:

Search with google or enter address

I don't want to search with google! FIrefox does correctly use DDG, but it's not correct behaviour for it to show google at all. It should say: Search with DuckDuckGo or enter address in my case, or replace the string with whatever the user has selected.

Yes, it's only cosmetic, but I want to get away from google. I don't want to even SEE it!

Thanks.

It's also strange because you have a DDG icon at the left and I have a magnifying glass. I run Windows and you are on Mac, but still, why would that be different?

One thing might be:

I have not installed any DDG add-ons, I am testing changing to the built-in DDG search plugin by changing the default search engine selector described in

Change your default search settings in Firefox

Do you have a DDG extension installed?
