My Thunderbird E-Mail account won't work on my desktop. It works fine on my laptop on the same network. When I try to "Get Messages" It gives the error message "Connection to server mail.gandi.net timed out" after a period of time Also, I have deleted the saved password for this account, BUT Thunderbird is NOT asking me for a new password.

Any help will be appreciated Thank You, Danny Uerling

What's the antivirus on the desktop, and its mail settings? The laptop might have a different, non-interfering AV app, even though the account settings in TB are the same. Check also that the desktop's security/AV app is not managing TB passwords through an integrated component.

I am using Avast antivirus. I went into the program controls for avast and temporarily turned of the mail shield. I was then able to enter a new password (TB prompted me for it). Once this was done I was able to re-activate the Mail shield in Avast.
