I used the clear private data option and it didn't warn me at all that doing so would delete everything I had downloaded in my memory, I didn't mention that deleting downloads would include everything that was saved in my memory, I thought it was simply going to clean my download list and delete cookies, history and cache. How does that option have the capability to delete entire gigabytes of information from my device? Is there anything I can do to recover my files?

Hi

If you open the file manager app on your device and select the "downloads" folder, do you see your files?

No. When I check my storage the gigabytes are lost. For example I had 1GB of music and now it only says 16 MB

I am sorry, but it is not going to be possible to recover the files.

Why does mozilla do that? Shouldn't it just delete the download history? How can it delete gigabytes in seconds with no warning at all?

Sorry, just to clarify, are the files still in the Downloads folder in the file manager app on your device?
