SMTP Log in 91.5 ?
Hello
I need to be able to generate a Log for SMTP in Thunderbird 91.5 on Mac OS Monterey.
I have followed these instructions and I get 3 files generated:
alex@MBP11TB ~ % ls -l *.moz_log -rw-r--r-- 1 alex staff 0 Feb 4 16:59 smtp.log.child-1.moz_log -rw-r--r-- 1 alex staff 0 Feb 4 16:59 smtp.log.child-2.moz_log -rw-r--r-- 1 alex staff 0 Feb 4 16:59 smtp.log.moz_log
But as you can see nothing is written there...
Any idea ?

I clicked the link and was offered to create a new document in the knowledge base. I don't think that is where you thought you were linking to.
Traditional logging is discussed here https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging However V91 brings a new method of SMTP logging. The short of it is in the wiki, I try discuss it further and fill in the gaps here https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2021/10/logging-mail-sending-in-thunderbird.html

Thanks for this link - got the logs I was looking for. Will this be the way forward or just a temporary "hack"
My understanding is this is permanent. You might have notice that my previous blog post to the one I linked was a for similar error console logging of the new account wizard.
Personally I would like to get a file with what I want, without the injected garbage from other functions that can appear in the error console.
