My husband and I share an email account from TWC. The original account was weav13@roadrunner.com and then I added Weaver12@roadrunner.com. Recently we were unable to send emails from my Weaver12@roadrunner.com. I went into settings and changed the Default to my Weaver12@roadrunner.com and was able to send emails. Then his email did not work. How do I fix the settings to work for both of us. Also, at the same time I quit getting emails sent to my iphone. I have contacted Spectrum who administers our account and my server is mail.twc.com. I have tried many setting changes to fix this, as well as, searching on this site. The incoming email settings are POP. I have seen the Port should be 993 or 995. Not certain which is correct, but have tried both. The outgoing email settings are attached. How do I fix this? Also, how do I get emails on my iphone? Hope someone can help! Thank you.

The first issue can be fixed by assigning the correct smtp server to the accounts: in Account Settings, select the weav13 account in the left pane, then in the right pane Outgoing Server (SMTP) drop-down, select the weav13 smtp server. Repeat with the weaver12 account: select the weaver12 smtp server.

The (secure) incoming port for POP is 995, 993 for IMAP. If you aren't getting mail on the phone, it might be because it's first downloaded on the desktop and then deleted from the server. Most users with multiple devices would set the accounts as IMAP on all devices. To switch from POP to IMAP, the account has to be added again as IMAP:

TWC seems to work with secure and non-secure settings, but secure is recommended:

Good news, I got the emails on my phone. I had to reenter my password. I do not understand which option to select for Security (see attached options) there is no secure option unless the letters mean something. I read not to use the encrypted. The other two options were Kerberos/GSSAPI and NTLM. The Incoming also has OAuth2.

I still do not understand the SMTP server settings. The POP accounts are for incoming emails. The SMTP is the outgoing emails. Do I change something on the incoming emails screen (see screens attached).

I did see that POP was better for shared devices, but didn't want to lose the saved emails by attempting to change it. It has been working for us for years, but in the future I would not do the POP again.

Thanks for all the help!

Brenda

In your previous reply, the outgoing has security = none, authentication = password, transmitted securely. If that works, you can keep it. But if you want to have a secure connection like the incoming, try security = STARTTLS, authentication = normal password, on port 587. Kerberos/GSSAPI, NTLM and encrypted password are very uncommon.

IMAP is preferred for accounts accessed on multiple devices, and you won't lose your existing POP mail if you follow the link in my previous reply and copy the mail to a subfolder of Local Folders before removing the POP account.

Thank you for helping, but we still cannot send email from both emails. I changed to STARTTLS and this morning the emails won't download to Thunderbird. They came to my phone but not the desktop computer. See attached image. I may try changing it back.

I changed it back to "None" for security connection and it worked to download emails. Still cannot send emails from both emails.

The security for the incoming POP server should be SSL/TLS on 995, not STARTTLS. That is what you had in your second post.

What do you have for the outgoing server? The recommended settings are: mail.twc.com, 587, STARTTLS security, normal password authentication, User Name = email address. If that doesn't work, try port 587, security = none, authentication = password, transmitted insecurely, User Name = email address.

My husband just won't send emails. He doesn't use it that much.
