How to automatically delete trash after X days on POP account

I would like to delete emails in my trash folder automatically after 30 days in the trash bin. I uses POP account settings. I can only find a setting that deletes the trash on exit, but that is too quick. I need more time to recover email from the trash in case I am later alerted to the fact that something I thought was trash turns out to be important. Usually a week or two will suffice. After 30 days, it's a pretty safe bet that anything in the trash is actually trash, so then I want to delete it automatically. Seems like there must be a setting for this somewhere. Anyone know if there is one? If not, how do we request that it be added as an option? Thanks.

There is an addon, xpunge, that has the ability to do that. The feature is in minutes, but you could set it to roughly 43200 minutes and that would be equivalent to a month,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unless I'm mistaken, it looks like xpunge deletes everything in the trash can. So it will wait 30 days to delete the trash, but it then deletes ALL the trash, not just trash that is 30 days old or older. I want to keep my trash for long enough to make sure I don't have an accidental delete I might need to recover. That's why I don't want delete on exit. Is there a way to only have it delete 30 day old trash?

If there is, I am not aware of it.
