Doesn't open website when clicking on link

When I click on a link on some websites, the link opens with no trouble. However some links don't open, just show the url. If I copy the url and paste it into a new tab, it then opens. How do I fix this? The links are from reputable sites.

Is the site a secret??? How can we help with something we cannot see? What OS? What version of Firefox? No steps to replicate. No screenshots.

The link is a little strange because it has multiple servers involved:

  • Initially, the request goes to outlook.office.com which shows a sort of placeholder page that says "Verifying link..."
  • That page has a script which sends a request to urldefense'.com with the destination URL to check
  • After the destination URL checks out, that server sends a redirect to support.mozilla.org

Where is yours pausing/failing?

From the beginning please. Where is the link coming from? If an email, post the contents of the email here. Steps to replicate would be very very useful. This random link does nothing.

Hmm, there were 3 points. Which URL is stuck in the address bar when Firefox stops moving forward?
