Not sure I selected the proper category, but I've been coding websites since for longer than I like to admit.. (About 1998 memory serves me right..).. Anyhow, at this point I maintain 3 websites.. Here's one of them: https://www.pbl-sn3.com As you will see there are many pages involved.. I used to able to right click on a photo or graphic and Firefox would tell me what it was, its filename, and even it's size.. But no more.. This was a really handy feature that kept me a Firefox user ever since I discovered Firefox..

Now, instead of right clicking on it (so I can find it easily on my PC using a great little program called "Everything" (see https://www.voidtools.com/ which is amazing in its own right..), I'm stuck viewing the Page Source, finding the file in all the jumble of code, etc. etc. etc... (Yeah, I can right click on the image and open it in a new tab, but it tells me nothing about its SIZE either.. Dang!

So am I the only guy that's ever complained about this? (I recently downloaded Google Chrome which appears to be a less-than-perfect knockoff of Firefox and also lacks this "feature".. But my bank likes it whereas they would no longer allow me to do online banking with Firefox.. A pesky but unrelated issue here, I know..)

Anyhow, if there's a quick fix for my problem, I sure would appreciate a how-to implement it! Thanks for "listening"! - Ol' Bill in California

Hey jscher2000, ya done good!

I followed your instructions carefully.. (Not my forte and at age 88 I'm unlikely to change.. Ahem..) And voila! I worked! First time out!

So I owe you one amigo! THANKS A BUNCH!

Hi Ol' Bill, View Image Info was hidden during a push for simplification. However, you can restore it using the following method:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future. Since we have had this setting for a long time and I use it myself, I feel comfortable mentioning it.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.menu.showViewImageInfo and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the preference to switch the value from false to true

Actually, there was a window of time when it was just completely gone, so I posted an add-on to replace it. Kind of obsolete now, unless you want to really nerd out. Just in case of it's of interest: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/view-image-info-reborn/

Finally, for your next reply, please avoid starting lines with blank spaces or tabs -- they trigger preformatting which makes the text hard to read.
