I have windows XP. Firefox is very slow to open. I noticed 8 versions of Firefox setup exe in the folder "downloads": 3.6.2, 3, 7, 10, 10(2), 12, 13, 14. Can I delete the older versions and keep only the latest Firefox set up 3.6.14 exe. Will it speed up the opening of the browser Mozilla.

1. Yes, you don't need any Firefox_setup programs once Firefox is installed.
2. Having a lot of downloaded files showing in the Firefox Downloads window will slow Firefox startup, as Firefox will look for those files every time Firefox is launched. You don't need to accumulate a listing of downloaded files in the Firefox Download window, those files are actually stored elsewhere on your hard drive.
3. Deleting a file in the Downloads window won't actually delete the files itself, only Firefox's record of you having downloaded each one using Firefox.
