The Google main page (www.google.com) does not display the "Advanced Search" link, starting today. I updated to Firefox 5.0 a few days ago and got the Google Advanced Search link until until today.

The Google main page (www.google.com) displays the search field, but starting today it does not display the link to "Advanced Search," which is normally to the right of the search field. Moving the mouse pointer in that area does not show a link. This problem began today. I updated to Mozilla Firefox a few days ago and did not have this problem. I have not done any other updates or changed any Firefox options. The problem does not happen when I access Google vie Internet Explorer. (My current workaround is to have a bookmark pointing to the full URL for the Google Advanced Search page.)

I am still seeing the advanced search link using firefox, on Google.com and google.co.uk. Try the UK version it will probably work. My first guess would be that if you clear the cookies relating to Google.com and possibly the clear the cache it will probably work again.

Deleting Google.com cookies fixed the problem. Thanks.

Google has cleaned up that page and moved all those links to the Options (gear like) button in the top right corner next to the "Sign in" button.

Glad you solved the problem

I was still seeing the older Google interface when I posted the answer. I do now see the newer one with the black bar along the top and the gear cog icon for settings.

No idea if it is part of the new interface but I have just noticed the search may now be locked to safe search on a per account/profile basis, that is a feature that may be useful.

" You can tell at a glance if the lock is engaged

When the SafeSearch lock is on, the top of the search results page looks different in two ways: 'SafeSearch is locked' is displayed below the search box, and the colored balls appear on the right. The results page is designed to look different enough that you can immediately tell whether the lock is on or off -- even from across the room. (link) "

My advanced search link is back again, under the new blue search button.
