Every time I click on a link or type in a website page I get 2-4 pop-ups stating "Index of file:///C:/ Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/" I have looked at you responses to other Mozilla user having the same problem. You recommended action didn't help me or most other people experiencing the problem. I still continually get the pop-ups under safe mode. Unless there is a way to fix this problem, you've lost a Mozilla Firefox user.

Thank you!

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you for trying Cor-el, but I already tried that and I continue to get the index pop-ups. I've scanned my system and I have no virus, trojan, or spy-ware causing it.

Is there just a flaw in the newest update of Firefox-Mozilla? There are ALOT of other people having this same issue. Any assistance would be appreciated. Until then, HELLO CHROME.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files

If you click links in external programs then try to redo the default browser by selecting another browser as the default and then let Firefox ask again to do it.

Also check the target line in the desktop shortcut if you are using that when it happens.
