I cannot close and reopen Firefox because there are numerous plug-in containers active in task manager.

I close Firefox browser and try to reopen only to get "Firefox already running. Please close browser". When I look in task manager window there are numerous plug-in container applications running and Firefox will not restart until all these close themselves, which sometimes is up to 1-2 minutes.

I do not want to have to open task manager and close down open programs. That is what I am doing now. It is cumbersome and I do not want my browser staying open doing "things" behind the scenes when it should shut down when I close it. In task manager window and processes tab there may be 7-10 plug-in container.exe processes open and they will count up to appro. 27,000 bytes and then another one will open and count up. When they all close down and disappear is when I am able to open Firefox.

This may not be too relevant but note Firefox still has a bug (#633427) that results in plugin containers being opened for all plugins, even disabled ones when history/cookies are cleared. If your firefox is set to clear history on closing you will suddenly unexpectedly see some plugin container instances opening up, but they should close down again. (it appears you have about 20 plugins installed - I do not know if you have others that are not enabled)

If that is the problem maybe considering an alternative profile with fewer plugins would be a work around until the bug is fixed.
