This does not answer my question. I need step by step instructions on how I disable the restore previous session button that appears when I open Firefox home page. This is a shared computer and I do not want anyone able to see where I have been!

Consider using a separate password protected Operating System account, if possible, that may help.

You may use Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history to prevent some of these problems occurring.
