Hello, I can't get rid of the fricking searchslate.com plugin. The site keeps popping up every time a new tab is opened.

The plugin was allegedly downloaded from the Firefox page.

I unistalled it and it isn't listed in the extensions & plugin-containers anymore. Running Bleachbit and Sweeper had no effect.

Thanks in advance,

daspif

hello, enter "about:config" into the address-bar, confirm the info message if it shows up, search for a preference called "browser.newtab.url" & richt-click and reset it to the default (the default in firefox 12 is "about:blank", from firefox 13 upward it will be "about:newtab"). you'll have to restart the browser for the change to take effect.
