I am running Firefox version 4.0.1 on WIndows XP Professional. I no longer can find the Download Helper Icon, even though I have the Add-on installed and have tried to customize my toolbar. I can't bring the icon back...please help.

You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.

Open the Customize window to see if the button is on a toolbar or in the toolbar palette.

  • View > Toolbars > Customize
  • Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout
  • If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up
