I had to reset firefox due to a persistent pop-up message requiring me to login to Yahoo each time. In the process, my bookmarks sidebar has gone away. My bookmarks are still there, but I can find no way to permanently display them in a sidebar. I want to be able to scroll right to the bookmark I want without bringing down the bookmarks each time. This is probably a simple problem, but I can't find the fix. I don NOT want to use the bookmarks toolbar - I want them on the sidebar all the time.

Ctrl+b will open and close the Bookmarks Sidebar. This also is available on the "classic" View menu, which you can access by pressing Alt+v. Does that help?
