I am trying to open "www.whatismyip" I keep getting the following, when I try to open: "whatismyip.php (applicaation/x-shockwave-flash Object)" This was not happening last night, but is happening tonight. I went to adobe and downloaded the latest shockwave flash player, but still have this problem. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I went to Firefox and got a suggestion. I was told to "reset" Firefox. I did so and the problem is now gone. Thank you for your help. I appreciate you taking the time to try to help me.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
