chrome downloads
my PC keeps trying to download files from chrome. I am told by Trend Micro that this is a Mozilla download and they do not know how to stop it.
Basically what I want is for these download attempts to stop as I do not want Chrome on my PC.
So can you say how to stop it or give me a batch file that will stop it.
It happens just about every three or four minutes and I am frankly fed up with it so if you want me to keep using Firefox and Thunderbird please tell me how to stop it.

Chrome downloads will not be directly related to use or installation of Firefox (at least assuming it is an official copy of Firefox from a Mozilla site or one of the official mirrors).
I am guessing it is some other software or link that is causing this. Possibly you had a Chrome installer bundled with some other software, and that is now trying to install. The easiest solution may be to allow Chrome to install and then uninstall Chrome.
I believe for example Adobe FlashPlayer may sometimes offer to bundle Chrome with the updgrades to Flash Player.

I have also experienced this problem on installing firefox on two PC's. How do you remove the plugins please as suggested.
Note that Firefox uses the "chrome://" protocol to access its own internal files and also access files from extensions, so that has nothing to do with Google Chrome.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
