How do I keep the home page as google. Everytime I go to the home page icon and click it, it comes up on top as search conduitxxxxxxxxxx.

I inadvertently downloaded something on my PC and then I went in to control panel and uninstalled it. Now when I try to keep Google as my home page, I dragged the icon over to the home icon and then it changes. It then ask me if I want to keep Google as my home page, but then when I click on the home icon, it goes back to the top and reads"search conduit folder. How can I get rid of the conduit folder search? I have Windows 7 and Mozilla most recent update.

Conduit is the name behind many "Community Toolbar" add-ons. Check for and remove any of those you find here:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

In fact, I suggest disabling ALL nonessential and unrecognized extensions to quickly see whether that resolves the issue.

Any luck?
