I have a file on two computers. I want to download information from one computer to the other using a flash drive. When I plug-in the flash drive to the other computer what are the steps to download this information.

I assume the "flash-drive" is an USB device, so it should wake up by itself on the second system. Or am I missing the point?
By the way, this questions forum is intended for Firefox, Thunderbird etc users. Glad to be (hopefully) of some help, but maybe the "flash-drive" producer's forum would be better suited for solving your problem.
What kind of data would you like to transfer?
Are this files that you've downloaded and saved from the internet or are this files from the Firefox profile folder?
For the latter, see:
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
You can copy files that you've downloaded to a folder of your choice where you store similar data.
