I am running Firefox on Windows XP. It will not load and I receive the message "Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible" I cannot open the window to restart it. I have tried to enter safemode by holding down the shift key as some sites have recommended but this does not work either. I am currently using Explorer to write this message.

Try to delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile.

Hello, Yes - it worked, i deleted the profile as suggested. However, I cannot access any of my previous information now. I.e. bookmarks and passwords, numerous other things. I can see the 'old firefox information' folder now on my desktop - how to I get this into my new firefox? so confusing.... now i'm writing from google chrome and it seems to be ok.
