I am trying to post a message from my email on Blackboard by copying and pasting. When I try to paste it, nothing appears. I can paste text from word documents but not emails in Firefox. I can paste the email message if I use IE. Any suggestions?

To see whether the problem is the copying or the pasting, if you copy from the email and paste into a program such as Notepad, does the clipboard seem to contain the correct information?

Also, does it make any difference whether you use the site's Paste button (which uses JavaScript to paste) or one of the standard Windows approaches to pasting (Ctrl+v, right-click > Paste, Edit menu > Paste)?

Use keyboard shortcuts if the buttons on the web page or other methods aren't working.

  • Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Mac: Command + C)
  • Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert (Mac: Command + V)
  • Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete (Mac: Command + X)
