When I go to a website, which seems not to belong to Google, a new minimized window opens/pops up and shows a blank page. This happens on pages that don' t use these kinds of ads and the pages do not contain anything, they are just blank. How do I get rid/fix this?

Those may be pop-ups, or adds.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good add blocker.
